Mission Statement
To foster an awareness and appreciation of the Batesville area's unique history, the Batesville Area Historical Society researches, collects, preserves and promotes the material culture and history of the Batesville, Indiana area. Our efforts will ensure that present and future generations can share in and understand their rich heritage.

Historic Collector's Christmas Ornament Sale

Dear Friend of the Historical Society,
The 2010 holiday season is here and it is time to announce the 2nd annual Batesville Area Historical Society Christmas Ornament. We started the collection last year with a picture of the Historical Museum on a rose colored ornament. The Historical Society will bring you the landmarks and traditions that invoke rich memories of Batesville then and now through these ornaments. This year, we are pleased to introduce the 2010 ornament of the Century Old Sherman House Restaurant and Inn on a green ornament.

We will continue this tradition each year with a different landmark familiar to the folks in Batesville. They make great gifts and stocking suffers for friends and especially anyone who has lived in Batesville in years past.
